Its that time of year again. AH, April. The time for deadlines--not just for taxes, but also for the 2009-2010 TMBA program!! April 15 is the soft deadline for the program to get things turned in such as resume, letter of intent, transcripts, etc. If you are at all interested, please go talk to me or someone in the MBA office at WKU! Dr. Hatfield and I will be on WBKO AM Live tomorrow morning promoting the program! It won't hurt you to wake up a little bit earlier in the morning to listen to what WKU's MBA programs have to offer you to further your education to enhance your future careers!!!
In addition, I would like to re-post a comment made on my blog by one of my awesome friends, who happens to be one of the Canadian students in the TMBA program this year:
"Hey everyone, if you’re thinking about signing up, please do! It’s an awesome experience, especially if you haven’t travelled that much in your life. It’s the perfect time to do it, and for those of you who have a girlfriend/boyfriend and are scared of the distance … almost all of us have left someone back home and it only makes your relationship stronger and more meaningful, honestly! I look forward in meeting the new TMBA group in September 2009; I will be in Moncton New Brunswick so you will see me around :)" --Shannon, TMBA 2008-2009
Thanks Shannon for your comment! And everyone else, feel free to comment...it encourages me to post more often. ;)
Remember, WBKO AM Live tomorrow, April 14!!

This sounds absolutely awesome. It definitely encourages me to go towards the MBA route versus the MPA route. I found the blog by googling "trilateral MBA WKU" ;) Definitely sounds great. Plus, the tip from Shannon (I've met her and most of the other people from Canada and Mexico) about leaving a boyfriend behind (which is my biggest concern) is definitely encouraging. I was wondering though, is the program conducted in French in Canada? Thanks for the read, I hope you continue to post!
Hey Amber!
The classes offered to Western students and Querétaro students are in English. However, the Canadian students have access to some of those classes in french. As for Mexico, the classes will be English.
I hope the Swine flu gets controled!! We really want to go to Mexico!!
Hey heyyy Shannon! This program keeps sounding better and better :) I'm really hoping you all get to go to Mexico too. Keep the faith!
My name is Ben and before the trilateral MBA was at WKU, it was at WIU in Macomb, IL. I graduated from this program a few years ago and attended school in Moncton and Queretaro as well. This is an amazing experience! Do not let little things get in the way of this. Sure it is a big change, but all classes are in English, the professors are great, and you become like a family with the people that are in the program. Even though you may not know anyone, everyone else is in the same boat. If you are thinking about enrolling, I wouldn't hesitate. You will grow tremedously as a person and the confidence that you gain in your skills is priceless. I can not say enough good things about the TMBA. If it is a relationship that is holding you back, speak with that person. This is a once in the lifetime opportunity that you will take with you forever. Even now, I'm sitting at work trying to recruit people to do this, for a school that I never attended. Don't let the Canada part discourage you from joining. A lot of people want to go to Mexico and not Canada. New Brunswick is bilingual and 99% of the people speak English. The semester up there is also short, which means you only have to deal with a little of the cold weather. Queretaro is Awesome, the people are friendly, and you are centrally located if you're interested in traveling. Mexico City is 2 hours away...also check out Guanajuato. If you are leaving a significant other behind for the trip, tell them to meet you in Mexico and go on the Callejon del Beso in Guanajuato. Like I said, this is something that you will take with you forever!
By the way I forgot to mention, the internship is what you make of it. I did mine in Bolivia, expecting the worst. It ended up being my favorite part of the whole program. We had people do their internship in Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, Canada, and the USA. I guess what I am trying to say is that do not limit yourself to just the USA, Canda, or Mexico for the internship. Get with your program director right away to find something that you are going to want to do. I have contacts with a non-profit association of universities from 8 countries in South America called UNAMAZ. They are always looking for interns and I would be happy to get you in contact with any of them...remember that these won't be in English...most have people that understand English, but the majority of the work is done in Spanish (or Portuguese). All these experiences are great for the resume, the more locations you put on there the better. If fact, when I was interviewing for positions, they spoke very little about the location of the schools I went to and the program itself, but they always asked in depth questions about my internship...take what I say for what it's worth. Everyone has to do their own thing, but I would be happy to help if someone was interested!
That is very interesting. How can I contact you?
